How do I Create Journal Types in Ledger App?

Journal Type defines the type of the journal being created. You can select the respective type from the “Journal Type” drop down, during journal creation.

Steps to Create Journal Types in Ledger App

1. Log in and access Ledger App from the universal navigation menu bar.
2. Click on “More (...)” icon and select “Settings” located in the app header bar.
   
3. Now, click on “Ledger” -> “Journal” -> “Types” found in the left navigation panel.
4. The Types dashboard will be displayed as shown. Click on “Create”.
   
5. Create Journal Type popup will be displayed with the following fields:
   • Name - Name of the journal type.
   • Description - Description of the journal type.
     
6. Click on “Create” button.
7. The journal type is now successfully created. You can edit the journal type by clicking on the “Edit” icon, if needed.
