How to set Visibility Condition on Custom App?

You could create your own app by using the App builder. Store and manage your records in one central place using the Custom app. You could able store the records and carry the backups whenever you need them as per your business requirements. The Visibility condition feature allows you to set the condition for the attributes when to visible. In short, you could decide the visibility of the attribute by applying the conditions. This feature is easy to implement, now start using this feature by following the below steps!

Note: Here, I have created a custom app named Business Contacts.

Steps to set up a visibility condition:

  • Log in and access the Business Contacts App from the universal navigation menu bar.
  • Click on the More(...) icon and select Settings from the app header.

  • On the left navigation panel, go to Customize App. Select Master Layout from the dropdown.
  • By clicking on the required field, you’ll be directed to the Inspector tab, where you can set the Visibility.
  • For Example, If you click on the Tags field, you will be directed to the corresponding Inspector tab on the right side. Here, you can enable the Visible toggle to make the selected field visible. The Conditional toggle helps you to determine the criteria during which the field must be visible.

  • Once the Conditional toggle is enabled, select the Set Criteria button to configure the condition during which the Tags field should be visible.

  • Here, the condition is that the Tags field is set to be visible when the contact’s category is Books or Magazines.
  • Click on the OK button.
  • Click Save to save the changes you have made.

  • On the create page, for example, we have selected the “Tags” field to configure our condition. Therefore, when the contact’s category is books or magazines, you will view the "Tags" field as shown in the image below.

  • When the contact’s category is not Books or Magazine as per your condition, you won’t see any Tags field.
