How to set up an approval workflow in the Purchase Requisitions app?

In Apptivo, once you create a workflow, it must be submitted for the approval process. The Purchase Requisitions are approved by the desired manager. You can create as many approval flows, based on your requirements.
Let’s go through the steps to set up an approval workflow in the Purchase requisitions app.

Steps to configure

  • Log in and access the Purchase Requisitions app from the universal navigation bar.
  • Select Settings from the App Header.

  • From the Settings page, click on the Work Flow → Approval Flows from the left navigation panel.

  • Enable the Enable Approval Flow toggle to ON and click on the Create button.

  • On the Create Approval Flow page, fill in the required details and define the criteria for the Approval Flow by clicking on the Insert Attribute dropdown and select the required field.

  • Here, the Criteria is Total is less than 1500 (Total < 1500). After defining the criteria, if you want to insert one more attribute, click on the Add Condition button.

  • Here, you have three types of Approval Flows that can be set.
  •         1.Employee’s managers based on spend limit.
            2.Employee’s managers with a job title.
            3.Employee’s managers upto a certain number of levels.
  • For instance, select the Employee’s managers up to a certain number of levels option.

  • In the Actions column, you can Create Trigger Actions by sending an Email or you can update an attribute.
  • Here the content in the Description attribute is updated to the need approval message when the Total is less than 1500.

  • To send an email, click on the Add → Send Email.

  • On the Create External Email page fill in the required information and click on the Create button.

  • Click on the Create button.

  • Now, on the Create Purchase Requisition page, enter the required information.
  • For Instance, enter the Item, which price is less than 1500, and fill the content in the Description field as Sending for Approval.
  • Click on the Create & Submit button.

  • Now, on the Purchase Requisition page, you can view the content in the Description field that is updated to need approval.
