How to create a custom mandatory field with certain conditions in the Properties app?

In Apptivo, you can customize your fields using the Master Layout feature. Master layout in the Properties app allows you to create custom mandatory fields as per your requirements. You can set conditions to the customized field. Let’s go through the steps to create a custom mandatory field with certain conditions.

Steps to configure

  • Log in and access the Properties app from the universal navigation bar.
  • Select Settings from the App Header.

  • From the Settings page, click on the Customize App → Master Layout from the left navigation panel.

  • Drag and drop the attribute you would like to add from the Palette panel on the right hand side.
  • For instance, drag and drop the Number attribute.

  • Click on the added attribute, you will be redirected to the Inspector tab.
  • Change the Field name and scroll down the Inspector tab, to view the Mandatory section.
  • Slide the toggle button to make the field Mandatory.

  • Now, to set the condition for the field to be mandatory, slide the Conditional toggle button in the mandatory section.
  • Click the Set Criteria button.

  • Here, the condition is that the Number of Floors field is set to be mandatory when the Title field is equal to Flat i.e, Title = Flat.
  • Click on Ok button.

  • Click on the Save button to save the changes.

  • Now. in the Create Property page, when you enter a Title field other than Flat, the Number of Floors field is not mandatory to fill.

  • If you enter Title as Flat, you can view the Number of Floors field as mandatory to fill.
