How do I Customize Data Level Access in the Custom apps?

Apptivo apps allow you to build and customize your own application as per your business preferences. In addition, you can customize the custom apps with data-level access to only the most trusted employees of your firm.

Steps to follow

  • Log in and access your custom-created application. Here, the Custom app is named as Business Contacts.
  • Click on the “More” icon and select the “Settings” icon located in the App header bar.
Custom App

  • Click on “Access Level” from the “Security” drop-down in the left navigation panel.
  • You can view the “Business Contacts Access Level” setting which allows restricting Business Contacts app visibility and also giving privilege level access to “View” and “Edit”.
  • All – Everyone with access to the Business Contacts app.
  • Employees – Specific Employees who are assigned to Business Contacts.
Access Level

  • Apart from specific employees, you can provide access to other users by enabling the Exception toggle. [May be your Sales Manager or General Manager]
Exception List

  • After enabling, you can add other users by clicking on the “+” icon. It can be either employees or teams. [Make sure that all employees under the team should have that required app access]
  • Consider the access level is configured to give View Access to All but e
  • Edit access to Employees.
  • Then, when another Employee tries to access it, she will have access to view the record but not edit it.
Edit Access

  • If the other employee is added to the Exception list, they will be having both view and edit access as configure.
