How to enable notes in the side panel for the Cases App?

Cases App has great significance as it helps to handle different concerns and bug issues from the Customers. Each case might go through different steps. As it includes different actions, it becomes inevitable to keep a tab of everything.

Adding Notes to the cases assists in solving the problem. Apptivo allows you to view the notes in the side panel of a record. You need not navigate to the Overview page → Notes to retrieve information associated with it. Instead, you can enable the side panel view for Notes to view the information.

  • In the Cases App, navigate to Settings → Collaboration → Notes. Here enable the toggle for Notes in Side Panel.

  • Once the feature is enabled, Click on a Case that has Notes added to it from the Show All page.

  • You can see the Notes added to the Case is visible in the side panel.
  • Now, disable the toggle for Notes in Side Panel from Settings → Collaboration → Notes.

  • Once the feature is disabled, Click on a Case that has Notes added to it from the Show All page.

  • You can see the Notes are hidden in the side panel.

Privilege Based View

You can also restrict access for viewing the Notes in the Side Panel. Only those employees who have a particular privilege can view the notes.

For Instance: Let us set the privilege as Manage Cases from the Settings → Collaboration → Notes section.

Consider an Employee doesn’t have the Manage Cases Privilege. When he clicks on a case from the Show All page, he will not be able to see the Notes in the Side Panel view.
